As the year comes to a close, the staff at Central Roofing Company is pleased to announce some wonderful year-end news. Through our in-house charity project, Scrappin’ for Kids, Central Roofing Company generated more than $30 thousand in 2014.
It should be noted that this is only the amount of money generated and donated by Central Roofing Company alone and does not include the money generated by the program’s affiliates.
“Scrappin’ for Kids is our opportunity to give back and create a legacy that will positively impact the lives of children and their families for years to come. It is our vision to see the program grow and to partner with other construction and trade companies for the benefit of child charities. Someday we hope Scrappin’ for Kids will be even bigger than Central Roofing Company,” said Gerry Stock, Central Roofing Company CEO.
Through the project, our Central Roofing staff members recycle scrap metals taken from our own sheet metal department and salvage it at places like K&K Metal Recycling in Minneapolis at a premium. After the recycling process is complete, 100 percent of the revenue generated is donated to children’s charities like Autism Speaks, Special Olympics, St. Jude’s, and local schools, just to name a few.
The project has received attention from Kare 11. The news organization filmed the process from beginning to end to use in a public service announcement about corporate giving.
