Daily updates on Central Roofing Company’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic / Employee Leave of Absence information

In an effort to keep our employees, our customers, partners, and important others interested in Central Roofing Company’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic informed in a timely and organized way, we have temporarily repurposed our industry blog to provide necessary updates.   Like everyone, we are taking in changing information on the hour and making the best decisions possible for the whole company with eyes focused on the future.

CENTRAL ROOFING COMPANY’S PANDEMIC RESPONSE PLAN & TEAM

On March 16, 2020, Central Roofing Company formed a Pandemic Response Plan and Team.  The team’s work is ongoing and responsive to the information provided to us from the federal and state governments as well as national and local health officials.  The plan is fluid and responsive, as evidenced by the move to recreate this webpage to focus on the pandemic’s impacts on company functions and policies.

The memo to staff generated by the team with the information known at the time available for review:

EMPLOYEE LEAVES OF ABSENCE

Furthermore, it is to be stressed, that although Central Roofing Company remains open and fully operational at this time, we are appreciative Governor Walz’s modification to unemployment insurance via executive order 20-05 (introduced March 16, 2020 with a backdate for effectiveness to March 1, 2020), which allows any employee to self-select to take a leave of absence.  There is no waiting period to receive benefits and there will be NO penalties from Central Roofing Company if an employee makes this choice.  Paid Time Off benefits will not be impacted by a Leave of Absence supported by unemployment benefits and field employees will be called back according to our typical “first-off, first-back” model used for seasonal layoffs.  We simply request that a phone call (763-572-0660) or email to Jason Stock be submitted prior to the first day of leave for planning purposes.   The Governor’s Office requests that applications for unemployment benefits be submitted online due to expected high volumes.  Go to https://www.uimn.org/ to start the application.
